My name is Leigh Wilcoxson, and I am a mom to two wonderful girls, Sydney (10) and Molly (4). I am also a wife to a great husband, Kory, who happens to be a pastor at Community Christian Church in Lincolnshire, IL. I began playing around with photography about five or six years ago when I discovered black and white film on our old 35 mm film camera. Until then I took pictures out of necessity, but after that, I took pictures because I loved it.
My oldest daughter became my tireless subject (well, I was tireless, her…not so much). I sent my pictures out to family and friends at holidays or birthdays or because I was bored and didn’t have anything else to do, and after time, people took notice.
And then I bought a digital camera. Pure bliss.
A couple years ago I started thinking about taking photos for a living, so I pestered all our friends to let me snap photos of their kids. It didn’t take long before I knew I had found my niche, and the next thing I knew, I was in business. Not many people get to spend their days doing what they love, and I am truly grateful to be one of those few.
If you are interested in scheduling an on location, natural light photography session, please shoot me an email at anytime, at LeighWPhotos@aol.com and I’ll be happy to share my love of photography with you.

Leigh – I am a good friend of Beth McCormack’s. Last weekend I was at her home and she shared Lucy’s pictures with me. She introduced me to shutterfly and I thought your pictures were amazing. You do a great job. I actually just received my order in the mail this past week. Very quick. I would be interested in having your photograph my children, however, they may be too old for what you want to do. They are 15, 13 and 11 years old. Please let me know if you would be interested. Maybe we could meet at Beth’s house and shoot there. I also love the black background shot in black and white with the people who are being photographed in black. I have seen several shots with different photographers and I really like that look. Thanks for your time. Jodi Sage

Leigh, Thank you for the amazing pictures you took of Ashley. I have some of the black & whites framed and everyone who’s seen them has had such wonderful comments. Ash is very proud of her photo shoot and loves to talk about the props you used in each photo. We made special frames for the color photos and are giving them as gifts this Christmas. You have and incredible way of finding the perfect shot! Thanks again, Ronni Wyeth

Hey, I just found your new blog and all with the LWP name. Yep. You’re good. If the new camera doesn’t work out for you, I know where you can send it. ;^) I am seriously enjoying your pics. You are unfairly advantaged by having a couple of cuter-than-bugs-in-rugs models to work with. May I should slather myself with meat sauce and make friends with the dogs next door. They’re kind of cute – in a junkyard dog sort of way.
